Rainbow Foundation Visit


The Nisei Veterans Legacy (NVL) hosted ten high school students from the Tohoku region in Japan on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the 100th Infantry Battalion clubhouse. The students are all orphans from the 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster and are referred to as the Rainbow Kids.

The Nisei Veterans Legacy and the Consulate General of Japan in Honolulu are co-sponsoring a tour of the State of Hawai`i in 2018 as part of

the 150th anniversary celebration of the initial Japanese migration to Hawaii. These first Japanese immigrants are referred to as the Gannenmono.
