Graphic Novel Honors Dan Inouye

The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) is proud to announce the publication of a new graphic novel, Medal of Honor: Daniel Inouye. Daniel Inouye personally witnessed the attack on Pearl Harbor and subsequently volunteered for the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, which became the most decorated unit for its size and time of service in the history of the U.S. Army. In April 1945, Second Lieutenant Inouye led an assault on German defenses in Italy, during which he was shot several times and had his arm blown off by a rifle grenade, but continued fighting and leading his unit to win the battle. Upon his return to Hawaii and recovery from his war wounds, Dan Inouye entered politics and became the first Japanese American elected to the U.S. Senate.

The AUSA Book Program recognizes these remarkable acts of valor with Medal of Honor: Daniel Inouye. This full-color digital graphic novel is being distributed free of charge as part of the AUSA educational mission. The new graphic novel is the first issue in the second volume of the Medal of Honor series. These graphic novels are available on the Medal of Honor series page at www.ausa.org/moh.
