The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) is proud to announce the publication of a new graphic novel, Medal of Honor: Daniel Inouye.  Daniel Inouye personally witnessed the attack on Pearl Harbor and subsequently volunteered for the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, which became the most decorated unit for its size and time of service in the history of the U.S. Army. Kaiser High School Honors the Nisei Veterans

In conjunction with Jayna Omaye of the Honolulu Magazine and the NVL, Kaiser High School students held a special history program to honor Hawaii’s Nisei Veterans on March 3, 2020.   The event was coordinated by Teacher Lory Dillon and conducted entirely by students including JROTC cadets.  Lynn Heirakuji opened the event by providing an overview of the Army units in which the Nisei Soldiers served during WWII. Veterans Shinye Gima, MIS, and Kenji Ego, 442nd RCT, spoke passionately about their experiences in the war and after the war, and fielded several insightful questions from the students...
