Get involved with the Nisei Veterans Legacy (NVL) and help us carry out our mission to preserve, perpetuate and share the legacy of the Americans of Japanese Ancestry (AJA) who served in the US armed forces in World War II.
Please consider donating to the NVL or volunteering your time. Volunteers are able to engage in different activities, such as, being a docent at NVL Traveling Exhibits (Go For Broke, Japanese American Soldiers Fighting on Two Fronts), assisting with set up or take down of the traveling exhibit, directing people and passing out programs at annual events such as the Joint Memorial Service, assisting with mail outs, and manning refreshment tables at events.
In addition, volunteers can join anyone of our NVL committees to assist with coordination and planning of various projects. As a volunteer, you will develop a deeper understanding of the courage and dedication of the veterans of the four distinguished Nisei units – the 100th Infantry Battalion (Separate), 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Military Intelligence Service, and 1399 Engineer Construction Battalion.
