Due to covid restrictions the in-person Nisei Soldiers Memorial Service typically held at Punchbowl Cemetery was canceled for the 2nd year in a row. Instead, the Nisei Veterans Legacy produced a 30-minute video commemorating the event with the theme, “Continuing to Strive for Liberty and Justice for All.” The video which was released on Veterans Day, November 11, 2021, features Jake Shimabukuro, General David Bramlett (retired), and Caitlin Shishido (granddaughter of a Nisei Soldier). Central Pacific Bank provided generous funding to produce the video.
