The Nisei Veterans Legacy and the Consulate General of Japan in Honolulu are co-sponsoring a tour of the State of Hawaii in 2018 as part of the 150th anniversary celebration of the initial Japanese migration to Hawaii. These first Japanese immigrants are referred to as the Gannenmono.

The Hawaii Nikkei Legacy Exhibit made its Hawaii debut at the Honolulu Festival, where hundreds of visitors are expected to attend the annual event held in the main exhibition hall. The NVL also showed its four panel display on the Nisei veterans in space generously donated by the Hawaii Senior Life Enrichment Association.
