Sage Tottori, high school senior at Island Pacific Academy contacted the NVL in Fall of 2022 to explore whether there would be support for his idea to geotag all the Nisei soldier gravesites at Punchbowl Cemetery. The NVL quickly agreed to sponsor his innovative and practical project and coordinated with Punchbowl Cemetery staff to obtain their support. Sage assembled and led a team of scouts and friends and over a 4-month period was able to geotag nearly 1,500 Nisei soldier gravesites, earning his Eagle Scout ranking.
