HNL Exhibit Opens at Kukui Grove, Kauai

With support from the County of Kauai, Kauai Japanese Cultural Society and the Consulate General of Japan in Honolulu, the Hawaii Nikkei Legacy Exhibit was displayed at the Kukui Grove Center in Lihue, Kauai from September 7–23, 2018. This showing was part of the Gannenmono anniversary celebration throughout Hawaii commemorating 150 years since the initial Japanese immigration to Hawaii. Mr. Art Umezu of Kauai County was the key organizer and force behind the exhibition. His hard work made the opening ceremony a big success for the citizens of Kauai.
