Nisei Veterans Honored at 75th

Monday, December 5, 2016 — Hawaii Convention Center.

The Nisei veterans were honored as part of the week long commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attach. which launched the US into World War II. The theme of the luncheon was “Fighting Two Wars, AJA Veterans Tribute.” Over 800 people gathered to recognize the Nisei veterans for their role in the War, including approximately 165 veterans of the 100th, 442nd RCT, amd MIS. Fellow WWII veterans from the Mainland also attended the event. During the program, remarks were presented by Governor Ige and former Governor Ariyoshi, with the keynote address delivered by Admiral Harry B. Harris.
