NVL Exhibit at Moanalua Public Library

Former Governor Ariyoshi spoke at the opening ceremony of the NVL Exhibit at the Moanalua Public Library. The mini exhibit, comprised of four 4’x4′ panels,

is part of the NVL’s Library Series Traveling Exhibit. The exhibit covers the WWII exploits of the Nisei combat units of the 100th, 442nd and MIS. It also includes the 1399 Engineer Construction Battalion on the homefront. Approximately 50 people attended the ceremony to hear the Governor’s speech. He spoke about the importance of remembering your family roots, cultural values, and to work together for a better community.

The exhibit will be displayed at the Moanalua Library through the end of December. Planning is ongoing to display the exhibit at other public libraries on Oahu.
