Honorary Consul of France in Hawaii, Guillaume Maman, will award his country’s highest decoration — La Légion d’honneur — to nine nisei veterans of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team for their courageous and heroic acts in France during World War II. These nine Hawaii residents are: Roy Fujii, Richard Hamasaki, Tokuo Chester Murai, George Muramaru, Masaru “Biggie” Nakakura, Clarence Y. Tamayori, George “Rocky” Tanna, Harold Ueoka, and Mamoru “Flint” Yonashiro.
