Watch the Go For Broke Soldiers Postage Stamp Unveiling

After many long years of persistent and hard work, we are only days away from a US Postage stamp honoring the Nisei soldiers of WWII. Letters and packages from every post office across America can proudly display the Nisei, who despite destructive racism and imprisonment of families without a judge, jury, and trial, put their lives on the line to defend the freedom and liberty of all Americans.

Hawaii organizations dedicated to perpetuating the legacy of these honored veterans of the Greatest Generation, have worked together to plan and conduct unveiling ceremonies on Oahu, Maui, and Kauai on 4 June 2021. The event on Oahu will be presented live on the internet from 11:00 am to 11:30 am, featuring Gov Ige, a Nisei veteran from WWII, a veteran’s daughter, a veteran’s granddaughter, and others. The event can be watched from the homepage of this website beginning at 11 am next Friday, 4 June.

Take the opportunity before and after the live unveiling event to learn about the Nisei soldiers from the pages of this website, their life and death challenges and successes, and how they helped shape the social and racial justice and equity of today’s Hawaii.
